Biomethane Biogas Plants
Biomethane biogas plants produce biogas by breaking down organic materials without the use of oxygen. During this process, biogas is purified by removing impurities as carbon dioxide, moisture, and hydrogen sulfide. The result is highly pure methane, known as biomethane. This biomethane can be fed into the grid as a renewable substitute for natural gas or used as fuel for vehicles, providing a clean and renewable energy source for diverse applications.

Biogas as fuel for CHP plants
Combined heat and power (CHP) plants utilize cogeneration technology, allowing them to operate with any fuel or heat source at temperatures of 200°C or higher. In addition to traditional fossil fuels like lignite and heating oil, cogeneration plants can also run on renewable energy sources such as biogas, sewage gas, or landfill gas. In Germany, CHP plants powered by renewable energy are financially supported by regulations like the Combined Heat and Power Act (KWKG) and the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).
