FAKA: Our market-leading activated carbon filter for biogenic gas plants

Learn more about our market-leading, integrated activated carbon filter solutions from our FAKA series. These large, stationary filters remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S), siloxanes, and organic silicon compounds from gas which needs to be purified.

They are particularly suitable for higher raw gas loads and flow rates, and can easily and safely be refilled on site, with new activated carbon. There is also a two-chamber system (K2) version, for even longer service life. Please get in touch if you require a solution with different measurements and specifications, as we are always more than happy to advise you.

Overview of gas filters

FAKA: The high-performance activated carbon filter for demanding applications

The stationary, steel, activated carbon adsorbers (FAKA) are best suited for medium to large plants. In their standard version, our FAKA models can hold between 2,000 to 20,000 liters of activated carbon. Our FAKA filters are available as a single-chamber version (K1) and also an innovative two-chamber system (K2). The two-chamber system has the advantage of optimizing service life, as the activated carbon in the upper chamber can be loaded more optimally.

Our FAKA range in detail:

  • Stationary filter: Activated carbon is replaced on-site
  • Performance: Suitable for higher raw gas loads and volumetric flows
  • Efficiency: Maximization of service life through two-chamber system (K2)
  • High pollutant absorption: even at high raw gas loads
  • Versatile product solutions: Wide range of filter sizes and capacities
  • Cost-effective operation: Fast and clean filling and emptying
  • Maximum safety: Compliance with strict TRAS 120 requirements

With our extensive range of different filter sizes and capacities, we can offer flexible solutions for your plant.

Good to know

What type of activated carbon do I need for my plant?

Based on a simple gas analysis, we establish the right solution for the efficient operation of your gas plant. Benefit from our experience and obtain a free consultation today!

Why does SILOXA prefer to discuss activated carbon in liters and not in kg?

Our market-leading activated carbon filters, have a maximum filling capacity in liters. To ensure your filter is always at optimal performance, our  high-quality activated carbon is measured and delivered in liters, not kilograms. The same applies for filters supplied by other manufacturers.

Why is high-quality activated carbon so light?

The lower the specific weight of activated carbon (in g/l or kg/m³), the higher the pore volume of the activated carbon. A high pore volume means a lager contact surface, which leads to better purification. High pore volume is a quality characteristic of high-quality activated carbon.
